Epic Mountain Bike Rides - Great Mountain Biking in Durango, Colorado
Summary
Durango may be one of the few towns in the world that is known better for mountain biking than any other activity. Case in point: Durango is one of Ski Magazines Top 10 ski towns but tourism peaks in the summer, not winter.
The San Juan Mountains of southwest Colorado provide all the terrain you'll need to enjoy mountain biking here for a very long time. Eventhough the riding territory covers hundreds of thousands of acres you will have no problem finding plenty to choose from close to home.
Because summers are the peak season don't expect to find bargain basement hotel rates. Not that this area is expensive to begin with, it is nice to know that you have plenty of nearby campsites and a hostel to choose from.
