Epic Mountain Bike Rides - Great Mountain Biking in Moab, Utah
Summary
Moab's monumental rise to fame in the mountain bike community is equalled only by the incredible geological events that transpired millions of years ago to create it. In fact, the same geological events that created "Canyon Lands" will inevitably destroy it as time passes. Fortunately for us, Mother Nature's sense of timing coincides with the invention of the mountain bike.
If you are familiar at all with Moab, you no doubt have heard or read about the Slick Rock Bike Trail. Slick Rock is a good introduction of what this area has to offer, but it is just the tip of the iceberg. Like most of the trails in the area, Slick Rock is anything but "slick". The rock formations provide excellent traction but can also be bumpy making front suspension a big plus.
Moab itself is located near the banks of the Colorado River and is the jumping off point for recreational adventures of all kinds. The industry here is tourism, and as a result there are plenty of restuarants, bars and accomodations available.
