Mountain Bike Resource - Trails - Dog River Ride Summary
Ride Description
The Dog River Trail (#675) climbs (steep at times) from Hwy 35 up to Surveyor's Ridge. Along the way you will have many chances to gaze at the glacier carved northeast side of Mt. Hood. The trail is smooth and fast in some sections, rocky and technical in others making for a fun well rounded ride.
This ride can be done as an out-and-back, or it can be looped up with Hwy 35 and FS 44 (see map for details).
For the energitic, this ride can be looped up with the Surveyor's Ridge Trail for 18 miles of single track (6 up & 12 down, plus mileage on Hwy 35 if your not using the two car shuttle system).
Directions To Trailhead
Drive south from Hood River on Highway 35 for approximately 20 miles. Turn left onto a gravel road just before you would cross the East Fork of the Hood River. Park just off of Hwy 35. The trailhead is just a short distance down the gravel road.
If you are doing this as a point-to-point using the two car shuttle system, then continue heading up Highway 35 for about another 7 miles. Turn left on FS Road 44 and drive for approximately 3 miles until you reach road 620. Park here.
