Trail Log
- 0.0
- Trailhead elevation 4,000 feet. The trail starts by climbing a rocky section and then smooths out into a gradual climb as it enters the forest.
- 3.2
- Trail reaches ridge crest (elevation 6,400 feet). Ride a short distance to obvious viewpoint and get a stunning view of Mt. Rainier. The trail continues climbing up the ridge until you reach the summit of Crystal Mountain.
- 5.6
- Trail turns into a wider track. If you ski at Crystal then you may start to recognize this section.
- 6.1
- Reach the summit (elevation 6,872 feet). If it's a sunny summer day expect to share this viewpoint with plenty of other people who came up via chairlift. Although having the lodge here is nice, there is something anti-climatic about being surrounded by kids, parents & grandparents after you have just climbed almost 3,000 feet on sublime single track. You'll smile as you think to yourself, "These people just don't know what it's like."

Mountain Bike Resource - Trails - Crystal Mountain Ride Summary
Ride Description
While there are other trails in the Crystal Mountain area this one is by far the best. The ride is an out-and-back that climbs up to a ridge and follows it all the way to the summit of Crystal Mountain. The summit lodge is open most weekend days during the Summer and is an ideal spot to enjoy lunch and views before heading back down some of the best single track in the state.
Directions To Trailhead
Drive Hwy 410 to the Crystal Mountain Road (about 14.7 miles from Greenwater). Turn left heading uphill on this road for 4.8 miles. Turn right on road #510. This is an easy road to miss. If you make it to Crystal Mountain Resort than turn around. Once on road #510 continue for .4 mile and park in the designated area.
