Mountain Bike Resource - Trails - Mad Lake Ride Summary
Ride Description
Mad Lake lies in the middle of an extensive ORV trail system. This trail is closed to mountian bikes until July 15th of every year. This is to allow the trail to dry out from late melting snow in the higher elevations. This out-and-back ride makes Mad Lake its destination but you may want to turn around at the highest point of the ride at the 4.1 mile mark. If you ride on a weekend be be prepared to share the trail with motorcycles, hikers & horses.
Directions To Trailhead
Drive Hwy 2 to Coles Corner (about 20 miles east of Stevens Pass) and turn north onto Hwy 207 heading for Lake Wenatchee. In about 5 miles from Hwy 2 you will cross the Wenatchee River Bridge. Just after crossing the bridge the road will fork. Take the right fork. In about 1.3 miles turn left on Chiwawa Road. Follow this paved road for the next 9.8 miles. Turn right onto road #6210 for 8 miles until you reach a trail that crosses the road. Park here.
