Mountain Bike Resource - Trails - Tahuya State Forest Ride Ride Summary

Ride Description

The Tahuya State Forest is a relatively flat "working forest" managed by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). This 23,100 acre area is a popular destination for mountain bikers for its more than 42 miles of multi-use trails. What these trails lack in elevation gained they make up for in obstacles to keep the ride challenging. Mixed in with the challenging sections are fast stretches of trail with banked turns. With the exception of beginners, Tahuya is the perfect place for just about any skill level. If you go during anytime but late summer than expect to get extremely muddy as the trails tend to hold deep puddles almost year round.

Directions To Trailhead

From Belfair head north on Hwy 3 for about 1/4 mile and then turn left onto Hwy 300. Where you park depends on where you want to ride. A good starting point is the Mission Creek Trailhead. To get there continue on Hwy 300 for about 3 miles and then turn right on the Belfair Tahuya Road. In about one mile reach the Mission Creek Trailhead. Find a convenient parking spot. For other starting points refer to the map for the best parking location.
