World Cup Downhill
Giove, Warner win their first World Cups of the season.
Kaprun, AustriaTwo new faces emerged at the top of the podium this week, both with very different backgrounds. For Missy Giove (Volvo-Cannondale), who is one of the most recognized figures in the sport, this win was long overdue. On the other hand, the victory for Great Britian's Rob Warner (Giant) was a complete surprise. The win was his first ever, as well as the first ever for any Brit'.
Contributing to Warner's win were favorable weather conditions, which turned wet and wild after his 7:15.32 run. Following Warner were world champion Nicolas Vouilloz (GT) and Alexandre Balaud (Sunn Chipie), both of France.
